SLOTH 12: WERK

THE SLOTH Presents WERK at The Parkside Lounge

Sept 19 2025

Doors at 6pm / Stories at 7pm

Tickets $12

Doors open at 6:00 and stories begin around 7:00pm. Sharers and listeners are all welcome! No story is required to come and enjoy the scene. To sustain our work, there is a $12 entry fee, but we turn no one away for a lack of funds.

On the fence about telling a story? We're here to help you develop it for primetime! Reach out to one of our gracious and beautiful hosts to brainstorm and refine. We'd love to get a glimpse of your inner worlds.

Hosted by Tyler Armey & Mike Woronuk

What’s the story theme?

At WERK, we want to hear your stories of the grind, of hustling in heels, or healing after the hustle. How has your queerness inspired you to innovate for the life you want? Tell us about the people that made you, the places that broke you, or the things that helped you get the job done. We’re clocked in and ready to hear your tales!

What are SLOTH events?

The SLOTH is our queer gathering for friends to share stories inspired by our selected themes. Come to listen or come to tell. We welcome authentic and true(ish) tales, comedy, poetry, music, and any creative form you can put into a compelling 5-minute share. Follow us @sloth.nyc

Weimar Variety Show & Fundraiser

Weimar Variety Show & Fundraiser at The Parkside Lounge

Sept 5 2025

Doors at 7 / Show at 7:30pm

Advance $20 / Door $25

Join us for an incredible line up of performers as we gather to raise funds for the production of our play "A Bright Room Called Day" by Tony Kushner, opening this October.

A little about the play:
This story about a group of Berliners as the Nazis accumulate more and more political power in Germany is almost painfully relevant to what we’re all moving through right now with the current administration. We’re hoping to create a safe space for audience and actors to sit with their feelings, fears, confusion, questions, impulses towards leaving, impulses towards staying, and the intense and messy constellation that exists around what it means to be a citizen of our country right now during the rise of fascism.

A little about the fundraiser:

Hosted by co-producers Rebecca Friday and Jake Lasser aka Portal Rose and Director Rachel Karp

Performances by:

Throbbin Goodfellow
CUNTYHAM

Michael Cavadias

Michael Rider

Kate Eberstadt

A sneak peek from the cast

and More!
Plus special raffle prizes!

All to help us pay our actors, creative crew, and licensing rights to mount this very important performance.

Aug 22 2025

St. Divine together with Baby Spiders and Tough Darling present a powerful night of rock at The Parkside Lounge. Tough Darling is a new pop rock glam band who recently made their NYC debut last spring and features Michael Jung, formerly of Alice Donut. St. Divine is a genre jumping dynamic quintet fronted by Will Croxton and Judy Ann Nock (Psych-O-Positive) that blurs the lines between punk, Americana, and garage rock. They have been described as "riotus punk" (Sound Opinions) and "incendiary noise and infectious groove" (The Big Takeover).

Claire Nichols: A Celebration of Life

Claire Nichols: A Celebration of Life Live at The Parkside Lounge

August 7 2025

Doors at 7pm/ Show at 7:30pm

Early Bird $10  / Advance $12 / Door $15

Claire Nichols live for the very last time, featuring friends Gatorkitty and Angus Wayne. Claire Nichols is a bitch! But at least she’s embarrassed about it. (listen to “the dog song,” it’s good.) With a catalog that dates back to 2021, the Denver-born artist and songwriter serves a sucker punch of pop prowess on a platter of biting lyrics. Nichols finds a through line in the disparate using her distinctive poetic candor and glitchy electronic soundscapes.
