SLOTH SONGWRITING SHOP

SLOTH SONGWRITING SHOP at The Parkside Lounge
Monday, July 20 2025
Doors at 6pm / Workshop at 7pm
Free! Donation-based tickets only
SLOTH SHOP is here with a brand new experience: learn to write songs! SLOTH veteran and musician Chase Andrzej joins us to facilitate some generative magic. Through solo and group exercises, they will teach us the building blocks to building a story through song, writing lyrics, and putting them to a melody.

Doors open at 6:00. We'll ease in with casual mingling before diving into the workshopping magic. $12 entry helps sustain our space, but no one is turned away for lack of funds. Come connect, create, and sharpen your storytelling chops with us!

ABOUT SLOTH SHOP
SLOTH SHOP is your space to tinker, test, and trade ideas with fellow storytellers. Whether you're fine-tuning for the next open mic, shaping a personal project, or just need a spark to get started, bring your rough drafts, half-baked ideas, or even a blank page. Together, we'll learn how to give (and take) constructive critique, explore the art of collaborative storytelling, and build stronger creative bonds in our community.

What are SLOTH events?
Slow down and listen in. The SLOTH is our queer gathering for friends to share and workshop stories inspired by our selected themes. Come to listen or come to tell. We welcome authentic tales, comedy, poetry, music, and any creative form you can put into a compelling 5-minute shares.

Follow us @sloth.nyc.

Midnight Flaneur Presents: Meet me in the Bathroom

Meet me in the Bathroom

FRIDAY JULY 10th

10pm-4am

Advance TIX $15-$20 Door $25

A site-specific dance party and NYC music history installation at the iconic Parkside Lounge. Capturing the electric, sweat-dripping momentum of the early 2000s indie explosion, this night maps the downtown scene staged in the exact square footage where legendary bands cut their teeth before hitting the world stage. Expect a high-energy DJ set, a crowded floor, and immersive elements capturing a time when the NY music scene felt small and loud. Blur the line between nightlife and an exhibition. The flash is on, and the story is quite literally in the stalls. Featuring Music Made in the Lower East Side.
