Boston’s veteran garage rockers MUCK AND THE MIRES were once described as “a mix of the 1964 Beatles and The Ramones” by legendary Runaways producer Kim Fowley (Fowley went on to produce several of the band’s records). The group achieved worldwide recognition after they were crowned #1 US Garage Rock Band by LITTLE STEVEN Van Zandt in his battle of the bands on MTV. The Dracu-Las from NJ open offering girl group inspired surfy garage punk for the beach goth set. DJ Crystal Blu spins from here amazing collection of garage and underground rock.

Monday, July 20 2025
Doors at 6pm / Workshop at 7pm
Free! Donation-based tickets only
SLOTH SHOP is here with a brand new experience: learn to write songs! SLOTH veteran and musician Chase Andrzej joins us to facilitate some generative magic. Through solo and group exercises, they will teach us the building blocks to building a story through song, writing lyrics, and putting them to a melody.

Doors open at 6:00. We'll ease in with casual mingling before diving into the workshopping magic. $12 entry helps sustain our space, but no one is turned away for lack of funds. Come connect, create, and sharpen your storytelling chops with us!

ABOUT SLOTH SHOP
SLOTH SHOP is your space to tinker, test, and trade ideas with fellow storytellers. Whether you're fine-tuning for the next open mic, shaping a personal project, or just need a spark to get started, bring your rough drafts, half-baked ideas, or even a blank page. Together, we'll learn how to give (and take) constructive critique, explore the art of collaborative storytelling, and build stronger creative bonds in our community.

What are SLOTH events?
Slow down and listen in. The SLOTH is our queer gathering for friends to share and workshop stories inspired by our selected themes. Come to listen or come to tell. We welcome authentic tales, comedy, poetry, music, and any creative form you can put into a compelling 5-minute shares.

A year ago, Parkside launched the Bad Review Fund, a non-profit organization to keep the legacy of risky art alive in the Lower East Side. We were able to fund three incredible performances in 2025 and we hope to keep the momentum alive this year!

We are throwing our first-ever "gala" on June 1 to celebrate Bad Review Fund’s performers and drum up new interest and support. Parkside alumni Christeene (Paul Soileau) and Garnet Williams (both of whom who are currently on Broadway!) will be hosting and all 3 of our past grantees will be performing.

It's gonna be fun, there will be snacks, the program will be short but high quality and we will kick off pride month prioritizing community, art and activism.

***DRESS UP OR DOWN OR SIDEWAYS: WE'RE QUEER: LEWKS OR IRREVERENCE ARE ALWAYS ENCOURAGED

The Silent Auction will be going live a few days before the auction, you will be automatically notified first when you buy a ticket, or you can keep an eye on the Parkside Instagram and we will announce there as well.

This program was made possible by the generous personal donations from Jesse Goldstein and Kristen Mitsinikos, Neva and Howie Goldstein and the generous sponsorship and support from Danos Tequila and Olé and Obrigado wines (which you will be drinking a lot of on Monday June 1) as well as the our amazing fiscal sponsor: IndieSpace
